Product/Industrial Design

Step One.
Even before a pencil is lifted, we spend ample time exploring the critical questions. What problems must the design solve? What, if any, is the state of the art? How can comparable products be improved upon, both in terms of aesthetics and kinaesthetics? It is only by having clear answers to these and related questions that the design process can begin.

Step Two.
Initial sketches are made, keeping in mind a slew of other, company- and project- specific questions. For instance, designs must mesh with the existing attitudes and ethos of a company and its brand. Designs have to work with other products in a line, as well as with collateral. Then there are issues like how quickly the product has to come to market and how much it has to cost. By the end of this process, three or four great designs are left for our client to review.

The Final Steps.
Once a design is approved, we can follow through and:
- Investigate materials
- Explore sources of manufacture
- Find vendors
- Get quotes
- Have prototypes made
- Deliver a final cost analysis.
